FH UGM and PERADI Collaborate to Develop Outstanding Advocates through the 20th PKPA Program

The Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM), has once again organized the Special Advocate Professional Education Program (Pendidikan Khusus Profesi Advokat/PKPA), strengthening its collaboration with the Indonesian Advocates Association (Perhimpunan Advokat Indonesia/PERADI). Organized through the Legal Consultation and Aid Center (Pusat Konsultasi dan Bantuan Hukum/PKBH), the PKPA was officially opened on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in an on-site session at Room 3.1.1, FH UGM Yogyakarta Campus, as well as online via Zoom Meeting. Overall, the 20th PKPA program, jointly organized by FH UGM and PERADI, will be conducted over three weeks, from August 13 to August 29, 2026, in a hybrid format. The hybrid format is intended to expand access to advocate professional education through a more inclusive and flexible learning model.

The PKPA, as a manifestation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi), was officially opened in the presence of representatives from FH UGM and the Yogyakarta City Branch of PERADI (Dewan Pimpinan Cabang/DPC PERADI). Representing FH UGM were Prof. Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL.M., M.A., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems, and Dr. Yulkarnain Harahab, S.H., M.Si., Head of the FH UGM PKBH Unit. The 20th PKPA is designed to prepare 101 participants to become a new generation of advocates capable of responding to the evolving challenges of the legal profession. To achieve this objective, FH UGM and PERADI have developed a PKPA curriculum tailored to current developments and challenges facing the legal profession. The curriculum consists of 21 courses delivered across 27 class sessions. The sessions will be taught by 21 academics and professional practitioners from FH UGM and PERADI.

Beyond serving as an educational program, the PKPA also represents FH UGM’s tangible contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). Through the series of learning sessions, the program is expected to provide participants with a strong understanding of legal practice while enhancing their practical knowledge and skills. Equipped with these competencies, participants are expected to become advocates capable of providing professional legal services and contributing to national economic development.
