Department of Tax Law

Department of Tax Law which has been established in 2003, is one of the youngest departments in the Faculty of Law UGM. However, during the past 20 years, Tax Law department has graduated more than 350 students that took Tax Law concentration. The area of study of the Tax Law Department includes material Tax Law and Formal Tax Law. The study area focuses on the subject, object, tariff, tax collection procedures, and ways of enforcing the material provisions of the Tax Law. This knowledge is intended to provide a foundation for students in solving simple tax problems that occur in society.

Tax Law Department has offered elective courses to students that have a high interest in Tax Law field such as Central Tax, Politic and Tax Legislation, Tax and Regional Retribution, International Tax Law, and the Dispute and Tax Crime. Besides holding learning activities, Tax Law Department also offers an internship program with the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes for the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia. This program aims to provide an overview for the students regarding the job field that can be considered after graduating from the Faculty of Law.
