Examination Schedule
Ujian masuk Gelombang 1 dilaksanakan pada hari Selasa, 2 Mei 2023 dengan detail pelaksanaan sebagai berikut
Jam 13.00 – 14.00 WIB : Tes Substansi (Jadwal bersamaan untuk semua peserta)
Jam 14.00 – 16.00 WIB : Tes Wawancara (jadwal berdasarkan urutan peserta)
Untuk Ujian Substansi dan Wawancara pada gelombang 1 akan dilaksanakan secara hybrid dengan ketentuan sebagai berikut;
- Peserta yang berasal dari provinsi D. I. Yogyakarta dan Jawa Tengah wajib mengikuti ujian masuk secara luring di Fakultas Hukum UGM
- Peserta yang berasal dari luar provinsi D. I. Yogyakarta dan Jawa Tengah mengikuti ujian masuk secara daring melalui aplikasi zoom meeting (link zoom meeting akan diinfo via email)
Kuota Pemilihan Konsentrasi
Konsentrasi akan dibuka jika terdapat sekurang-kurangnya 5 (lima) mahasiswa yang memilih konsentrasi, mahasiswa memilih dua mata kuliah konsentrasi yang diminati, dan pembukaan konsentrasi berdasarkan peminatan dari mahasiswa, kecuali ada pertimbangan khusus.

Examination Schedule
The entrance examination for Wave 4 of the 2026 admissions will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, with the following details:
13:00 – 13:45 WIB: Substantive Test (conducted simultaneously for all participants)
13:45 – 16:00 WIB: Interview Test (scheduled based on participant order)
The Substantive Examination and Interview will be conducted in a hybrid format, with the following provisions:
- Applicants whose registered address (as stated on their ID card) is in a province on the island of Java are required to take the entrance examination in person (offline) at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada.
- Applicants whose registered address (as stated on their ID card) is outside the provinces on the island of Java are required to take the entrance examination online via Zoom Meeting.
Invitations and detailed information regarding the Substantive Examination and Interview will be sent to applicants via email after the document verification process is completed. Therefore, applicants are advised to regularly check their email after the registration period has closed.

Mandatory Document Requirements

- TOEFL and TPA requirements must comply with the applicable provisions and must be supported by official scores (unofficial scores are not accepted).
Note: The study program recommends that applicants who rely solely on a single source of funding through a scholarship scheme should secure the scholarship prior to applying to the intended study program. This policy is intended to reduce the number of applicants requesting deferred enrollment, which may affect the program’s intake quota, and to provide greater opportunities for self-funded applicants who are fully committed to pursuing studies in the Master of Laws program.

Admission Test
Admission tests for intake 4 of 2026 will be conducted on Tuesday, 7 July 2026 with details as follows;

The admission committee will send an invitation for admission tests to candidates who pass the document verification via email. It is strongly advised that the candidates frequently check their email after the application period is closed.

- After receiving your application documents, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) member and the Faculty member will process it into a selection process. Applicants will be assessed against the following criteria:
- Academic competence;
- Potential outcome, including contribution to development outcomes in your home country;
- Professional and personal leadership attributes
- If you are selected as one of the student candidates of UGM, you will receive a Letter of Offer (LO) via email that requests you to settle non-refundable payment for tuition fees and any other fees.
- Once the payment process is confirmed by the bank, OIA will process the documents for a Letter of Acceptance (LoA).
- You will receive the LoA and other information related to the courses offered, academic regulation, student buddy, etc. by email from admission@ugm.ac.id.
- The Office of International Affairs at UGM will process the application documents to the Directorate of Higher Education of Indonesia for a Study Permit. It usually takes two months to have the study permit issued.
- When the study permit is available, OIA will assist you in arranging for approval from the Immigration Office in Jakarta for the Limited Stay Visa (VITAS/Visa Tinggal Terbatas). It will take at least three/four months to arrange both the study permit and VITAS approval.
- Then, you will receive your VITAS (Limited Stay Visa/Visa Tinggal Terbatas) in your email directly from OIA (itas.oia@ugm.ac.id).
- Students with a stay duration of more than 4 months must process VITAS (Student Visa).
- You need to contact OIA no more than one week after you arrive in Indonesia via email admission@ugm.ac.id and cc: itas.oia@ugm.ac.id. Furthermore, you will receive other directions from OIA for completing your stay permit documents for your safety and convenience purpose.

- The admission capacity of the Master of Notarial Law (Magister Kenotariatan) Study Program for the 2025/2026 Academic Year is 110 students.

Admission Procedure
- Registration for prospective postgraduate students is conducted online via um.ugm.ac.id
- Prepare scanned copies of the required documents for upload during online registration. When selecting the Study Program,applicants must choose the appropriate program, namely Master of Laws (Jakarta Campus), and ensure that each document is uploaded according to its designated category.
- Proof of Registration, printed after completing the online registration process, accompanied by the following physical documents:
- Certified copy of the official diploma from the previous level of education, legalized by the issuing institution.
- Certified copy of the official academic transcript from the previous level of education, legalized by the issuing institution; with a minimum GPA of (a) ≥ 2.50 for A-accredited programs, (b) ≥ 2.75 for B-accredited programs, and (c) ≥ 3.00 for C-accredited programs.
- Certified copy of the accreditation certificate/proof of accreditation of the previous study program.
- For applicants to the Master’s (S2) program:

- A statement of the applicant’s motivation for undertaking postgraduate studies, including reasons, expectations, and plans after graduation (the template can be downloaded at um.ugm.ac.id).

Student Admission
Admission for the Master of Litigation Law Study Program is conducted once a year, in the Odd Semester. In the 2025/2026 Academic Year, the Master of Litigation Law program will conduct two admission rounds, namely Phase 2 (12 Feb-12 Mar 2025), and Phase 4 (10 Juni-2 Juli 2025). New student admissions are conducted through two stages, namely administrative selection and special/substantive selection in the form of an interview. The results of the student admission selection will be announced and published on the following website: http://um.ugm.ac.id. The types of selection available include:
- Regular Track, with the following scheme:
a. Self-funded
Intended for applicants who are self-funded (independent financing).
b. Coorperation
Intended for:
1) applicants who have been officially designated as scholarship recipients by a scholarship provider institution/agency (evidenced by an official letter of scholarship award); or
2) applicants whose education is funded by UGM’s partner institutions, as evidenced by a valid Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or Cooperation Agreement (PKS) (the list of partner institutions can be selected during online registration).
c. Scholarship Applicants
Intended for applicants who are currently applying for scholarships or awaiting the results of scholarship selection from various institutions/agencies/scholarship providers. - International Track
Intended for foreign applicants (non-Indonesian citizens).
A. Registration Requirements
- Original diploma from the previous level of education (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) from an accredited study program in a relevant field, and/or non-law Bachelor’s graduates who are working in the legal field from an accredited study program.
- Original academic transcript with the Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) at the Bachelor’s level or equivalent, with the following criteria:
≥ 2.50 on a 4.00 scale or equivalent, for applicants graduating from study programs accredited A, or;
≥ 2.75 on a 4.00 scale or equivalent, for applicants graduating from study programs accredited B, or;
≥ 3.00 on a 4.00 scale or equivalent, for applicants graduating from study programs accredited C. - Valid accreditation certificate of the Bachelor’s (S1) program or equivalent.
- Valid certificate of academic potential test results (issued within a maximum of 2 years from the date of issuance). The committee only accepts the following academic potential test results:

Institutional Testing Program (ITP) TOEFL 400 - Two (2) confidential letters of recommendation from individuals who are familiar with the applicant’s previous studies, such as an academic advisor and/or other authorized persons, for example the applicant’s workplace supervisor. The link for submitting recommendations online will be sent by the UGM Admission Committee to the referees via email. Please ensure that the referees’ email addresses are valid and active.
- Special requirement: Statement of the applicant’s intention for pursuing the Master’s program, including, among others, proposed research topic/area of interest, reasons and expectations for enrolling in the chosen program, planned research topic, and post-graduation plans (the template can be downloaded here);
- A study permit/official assignment letter from the applicant’s employing institution for those who are already employed (the template can be downloaded here);
- Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Cooperation Agreement (PKS), or a valid Scholarship Award Letter (specifically for applicants under the cooperation track).
