Dr. Muhammad Fatahillah Akbar, S.H., LL.M. and Prof. Dr. Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej, S.H., M.Hum., lecturers from the Faculty of Law Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM), served as speakers at the seminar titled “Corporate Crime in the New Criminal Code and Gratification Control at PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur” held on Wednesday (15/4/2026) at the Wijaya Kusuma Hall of PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur. During the seminar, both speakers delivered presentations on corporate criminal liability under the new Indonesian Criminal Code and emphasized the importance of strengthening legal governance and gratification control within corporations
The participation of FH UGM academics in this forum reflects the university’s commitment to promoting legal compliance and corporate integrity. Through discussions on corporate criminal law, FH UGM also contributes to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by encouraging transparency and accountability in corporate governance, as well as SDG 4 (Quality Education) through knowledge sharing with practitioners and stakeholders in the industrial sector.
