ALSA Legal Visit 2024 is an event under the External Affairs Division, which is a visitation type. The objective of this event itself is to expand the knowledge of the students and to facilitate a direct interaction between the experts and the students. ALSA Legal Visit 2024 was conducted on Wednesday (7/8/2024) until Thursday (8/8/2024). This event itself was attended by 38 participants.
ALSA Legal Visit 2024 brought the theme of “Mining for Sustainability: Perspectives on Mineral Mining in Fulfilling the Sustainable Development Goals”, driven by the condition of mining industry that contributes 6.12% of Indonesia’s GDP in 2023 and became one of the main sector from Indonesia’s economic growth. According to the theme that ALSA Legal Visit 2024 brought, they visited several institutions, such as Indonesian Mining Association (IMA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu), and Ginting & Reksodiputro in association with A&O Shearman.
On Day 1, ALSA Legal Visit 2024 participants visited Indonesia Mining Association (IMA). There were 2 session on the first day, those were seminar and Focus Group Discussion sessions according to the case that has been chosen. In this visitation, 2 speakers were presented, those are Hendra Sinadia, S.H., M.B.A. as the Executive Director of Indonesian Mining Association (IMA) and Arief Kayanto, S.H. as the Legal Director of PT. Kideco Jaya Agung.
Meanwhile on the Day 2, ALSA Legal Visit 2024 was continued with visiting 2 institutions, which were the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ginting & Reksodiputro in association with A&O Shearman law firm.
This event on the second day was started by the visitation to Ministry of Foreign Affair. This visitation was consisted of 2 sessions, seminar and questions and answer session with 2 speakers, those were Riena Dwi Astuty as the Head of the Organization and Personnel Division and Muhammad Awfa, serving as a Diplomat from the Directorate General of Law and International Treaties.
ALSA Legal Visit 2024 then continued with visiting Ginting & Reksodiputro in association with A&O Shearman law firm with presented 4 speakers, those were Abdelon Khadafi as Human Resources, Prasetyo Sukirno as Senior Associate, Nindya Zahrariyadi as Associate, and Michelle Christyanto as Associate. This visitation’s session were filled with company profile session along with the question and answer session, legal session and question and answer session, and office tour as the closing of ALSA Legal Visit 2024.
Through ALSA Legal Visit 2024, it was expected to contribute the benefit not just for the participants, but also for Indonesia Mining Association, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ginting & Reksodiputro in association with A&O Shearman as well.
