MOU Signing Ceremony and Symposium: Strengthening the Partnership Between Indonesian and Korean Law Schools

On Friday (24/05/2024), a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony and Symposium were held at Schubert Hall, President Hotel, Seoul, Korea. This event was organized by the Association of Indonesian Law School Deans and the Korean Law School Association. The ceremony and symposium aimed to strengthen academic cooperation between the two countries.

At the event, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) was represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dahliana Hasan, S.H., M.Tax., Ph.D., and the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems, Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL.M., M.A. The presence of this delegation from UGM demonstrates UGM’s strong commitment to expanding its international cooperation network and enhancing the quality of the university’s three pillars—education, research, and community service.

The signed MOU covers several key points. First, it encourages visits by faculty and students from one university to the other for research and educational purposes. Second, it facilitates the exchange of academic research and scientific information. Third, it supports friendly exchanges to promote mutual understanding and cooperation. Fourth, it encourages other activities that can enhance the development of both parties. This agreement will be valid for three years from the date of the last signature.

This event aims not only to enhance cooperation between the Law Faculties of both countries but also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically, this event supports Goal 4, which seeks quality education, and Goal 17, which promotes partnerships to achieve global goals.

This ceremony and symposium serve as a significant milestone in building closer ties between Indonesian and Korean academics. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that both parties can share knowledge and experiences, and jointly address global challenges in the field of law.
