To take a short break from their daily routines and strengthen bonds among the faculty community, the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada, with support from the State Electricity Company (PLN), held a family gathering in Pangandaran from Friday to Sunday, 27–29 October 2017. On Friday evening, faculty members, administrative staff, and their families departed for the Pangandaran Peninsula.
Although it rained on Saturday morning, the weather did not dampen the enthusiasm of the Faculty of Law community. They boarded boats to explore Green Canyon along the Cijulang River. During the trip, faculty members and staff enjoyed the river’s emerald-green waters and magnificent stalactite formations that had developed over hundreds of years.
The trip continued to Batu Karas Beach, known for its gentle shoreline and variety of water activities. Despite the drizzle, the Faculty of Law families enthusiastically tried the banana boat ride and played in the waves along the shore.
On the final day, the Faculty of Law community explored nature at the Pangandaran Nature Reserve, part of the Pangandaran Natural Resources Conservation Area. Visitors could observe deer and monkeys, explore caves, and discover the unique life within them. It was a memorable opportunity to spend time with family away from the demands of everyday work.

Pengalaman bersama keluarga besar FH UGM dalam acara family gathering 2017 di kawasan wisata pantai Pangandaran – Green Kanyon – Cagar Alam, kami sangat senang dalam acara seperti itu karena bisa menambah keakraban dan menjaga silaturahmi setiap keluarga besar FH UGM. Setiap acara dilalui bersama dengan ceria dan penuh kegembiraan di dalamnya. Hal ini tidak lepas dari dukungan dan kekompakan panitia penyelenggara.
Although we experienced some drizzle at Green Canyon and Batu Karas Beach, everyone remained enthusiastic. We took boat rides together, enjoyed the scenery, and explored the natural river. At Batu Karas Beach, we enjoyed the coastal scenery and spent time in the water with our families. Some families also tried the banana boat ride and enjoyed the beach activities.
The nature reserve was equally memorable. We saw trees, caves, deer, and protected monkeys, which also gave us a greater appreciation of the area’s natural environment. Hopefully, events like this will continue to strengthen the bonds among the FH UGM community. … Viva Justicia 🙂
