Universitas Gadjah Mada Wins Overall Championship at the 2017 Pelita Harapan Business Law Competition

The Pelita Harapan Business Law Competition is the largest biennial national competition organized by the Faculty of Law, Universitas Pelita Harapan, bringing together universities from across Indonesia to compete in the field of business law. The 2017 competition marked its second edition and carried the theme “Be Great in Investment and Know the Law – Facing the Rapid Growth of Indonesia’s E-Commerce.”

The 2017 Pelita Harapan Business Law Competition was held from 17–20 May 2017, with 49 delegations from 23 universities across Indonesia participating. Universitas Gadjah Mada sent three teams to compete in two categories: two teams in the Contract Drafting and Negotiation Competition and one team in the Arbitration Moot Court Competition.

The first Contract Drafting and Negotiation Competition team was led by Putu Bagus Adiyatmika Putra as Delegation Leader, with Annisa Rahma Diasti, Araya Anggara Putra, Desy Indriani Grace Sinaga, Dwi Tirtousada, and Ita Billa as delegates, and Ridha Rahmawati as official. The team won first place and received the Best Negotiation award.

The second Contract Drafting and Negotiation Competition team was led by Clarisa Davita Marianne as Delegation Leader, with Andita Widia Lestari, Dhanita Yuwansya, Nikita Kathryn Sianipar, Paramitha Candra, and Tjok Istri Dwi Wulandevi as delegates, and Dinda Asilia as official. The team won second place and received the Best Contract award.

Meanwhile, the Arbitration Moot Court Competition team was led by Tiuruli Sitorus as Delegation Leader, with Erwin Wijaya Sinaga, Debby Chikita, Muhammad Khalil Gibran, and Robiatul Adawiyah as delegates, and Kharisma B. Pertiwi Hermino as official. The team won first place and received the Best Defendant Memorial award.

Based on the cumulative points from the awards and distinctions earned by the three teams across the two competition categories, Universitas Gadjah Mada was named the overall champion of the 2017 Pelita Harapan Business Law Competition.
