The Hans Kelsen team, one of the delegations from the UGM Faculty of Law, successfully won first place in the Contract Drafting and Negotiation Competition at the 4th National Business Law Talk 2024 (NBLT). In addition to winning first place, the team also received the Best Contract award. The competition was organized by Sebelas Maret University (UNS) and lasted for two months.
The Hans Kelsen Team consists of 6 students of Faculty of Law: Muhammad Bintang Assiediqie (2021), Diandra Nitisara Murtadlo (2021), Naufal Rafidin Yustian (2021), Najla Nazhira Chairani (2021), Putu Ratna Indriyani Manik (2021), and Damara Lutfiah Irawan (2022). The team was coached by Florencia Irena Gunawan, S.H., LL.M. The Hans Kelsen Team’s success was achieved through hard work and intensive collaboration over two months. During that time, the team consistently prepared for the competition, particularly in drafting contracts and the negotiation round.
In this competition, the Hans Kelsen Team drafted a contract regarding the procurement and development of artificial intelligence (AI)-based autonomous buses in the National Capital (IKN). This topic challenged the Hans Kelsen Team to master both legal and technological aspects simultaneously. Guidance from coach Florencia Irena, who provided strategic direction throughout the competition, greatly helped the team refine their work.
The competition reached its climax during the final round, held on the UNS campus. The Hans Kelsen team delivered a stellar performance and defeated teams from other universities in the negotiation session. This success was the result of dedication, hard work, and strong collaboration among team members and the coach.
With this outstanding achievement, the Hans Kelsen Team secured first place and won the Best Contract award. They are committed to continuing to learn and develop themselves to achieve similar success in the future.
