Tim FH UGM Menjadi Quarter Finalist / Top 8 dari 127 Tim Seluruh Dunia
The Willem C. Vis (East) International Arbitration Moot is an international arbitration competition focusing on contractual disputes in international commercial law. First held in 2003, the competition reached its 15th edition in 2018. The Willem C. Vis (East) International Arbitration Moot 2018 was attended by 127 teams from universities around the world. The annual competition is held at City University of Hong Kong, with the 2018 edition taking place from 11–18 March 2018. The series of events began with the opening ceremony on Sunday, 11 March 2018.
Fakultas Hukum Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM) mengirimkan tim yang terdiri dari 5 delegasi, yaitu Felicia Komala (2016); Kukuh Dwi Herlangga (2016): Djeri Oktafyan Wowiling (2014); Nabila Farhani Oegroseno (2014); dan Rahma Reyhan (2014) untuk berlaga di Willem C. Vis (East) International Arbitration Moot. Tim ini bekerja di bawah bimbingan Ibu Fadhilatul Hikmah, S.H., LL.M.
Pada tahap preliminary round di hari pertama, Tim FH UGM bertemu dengan University of Hong Kong. Kemudian pada hari kedua, Tim FH UGM berlaga melawan The University of Southern California Gould School of Law. Dalian Maritime University adalah lawan Tim FH UGM pada hari ketiga dan pada hari keempat Tim FH UGM menghadapi Gujarat National Law University.
The FH UGM team advanced to the Top 32 and faced the University of Vienna. The team then progressed to the Top 16, where it competed against Duke University School of Law. During the Gala Lunch on Sunday, 18 March 2018, the FH UGM team was announced as a Quarter-Finalist / Top 8 team out of 127 teams from universities around the world. This achievement marked the first time an Indonesian team had reached this stage in the Willem C. Vis (East) International Arbitration Moot. In addition to becoming a Quarter-Finalist, the FH UGM delegation also received Honorable Mention for Best Memorandum for Claimant and Honorable Mention for Best Oralist, awarded to Felicia Komala and Nabila Farhani Oegroseno. – Djeri
