The UGM Faculty of Law delegation has secured third place in the National Law Debate category at UIN Law Fair VII 2024, organized by the Islamic Law Studies Program at the Faculty of Sharia and Law, Universitas Islam Negeri Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Competing under the name Team Soenardjo Abu Ngusman, the delegation comprised Panji Alfian Triananda (Class of 2023), Musanta Berpin Kembaren (Class of 2023), and Maytri Gestart Ignatius (Class of 2023). Throughout the competition, the delegation was affiliated with SPECIALITY FH UGM.
UIN Law Fair VII 2024 is a legal competition series encompassing Law Debate and Scientific Paper (LKTI) events, centered on progressive legal issues in Indonesia. The competition was organized by the Student Association of the Law Studies Program at the Faculty of Sharia and Law, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. The overarching theme was "Legal Development in Accelerating Constitutional Values in the Era of Political Transformation Toward a Golden Indonesia 2045."
The National Law Debate category entered by the UGM Faculty of Law delegation consisted of three rounds: a preliminary round held online, a semi-final held in person, and a third-place playoff also held in person. The category drew 16 teams from universities across Indonesia. The 16 teams were divided into four chambers, with the team that scored highest in each chamber advancing to the semi-final.
All members of the UGM Faculty of Law delegation are deeply grateful and express their thanks for all the support and prayers received, which enabled them to achieve the best possible results for their beloved alma mater. May this success serve as motivation for UGM students to become even more enthusiastic about achieving excellence, both in legal and non-legal fields.
