PKBH Faculty Of Law Ugm Holds First-Term 2025 "Suluh Praja" Coordination Meeting With DIY High Prosecutor's Office

On Tuesday, (11/02/2025), the Faculty of Law at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through its Legal Aid Consultation Center (PKBH), held the First-Term 2025 "Suluh Praja" Legal Education Coordination Meeting. This initiative aligns with the university’s Tri Dharma principles, particularly community service, and was conducted in collaboration with the Civil and State Administration Division (Datun) of the High Prosecutor’s Office of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY).

The coordination meeting was attended by representatives from the Faculty of Law UGM, including Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL.M., M.A., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems; Dr. Airin Liemanto, S.H., LL.M., Deputy Secretary of PKBH; and PKBH part-time staff. Meanwhile, the DIY High Prosecutor’s Office was represented by Dr. Putri Ayu Wulandari, S.H., M.H., Coordinator of the Civil and State Administration Division, along with the State Attorney Team from the Datun division.

This event also reflects the Faculty of Law's commitment to achieving the 16th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions by fostering inclusive legal education institutions, as well as the 17th SDG on Partnerships for the Goals by strengthening cooperation between UGM’s Faculty of Law and legal enforcement institutions such as the DIY High Prosecutor’s Office.

The "Suluh Praja" Coordination Meeting serves as the initial preparation for the 2025 legal education program, where PKBH UGM and the DIY High Prosecutor’s Office will provide legal counseling in various villages (kalurahan) across the Special Region of Yogyakarta. In this first phase (Term I), the program will be implemented in 10 selected villages across the province. The 2025 Suluh Praja will introduce more diverse legal education themes tailored to the most common legal issues faced by the community. The collaboration between PKBH UGM and the DIY High Prosecutor’s Office will be further strengthened by involving additional institutions, such as the Social Security Administration Agency (BPJS), to enhance the program’s impact.

The First-Term 2025 "Suluh Praja" Coordination Meeting proceeded smoothly and concluded with an agreement to commence the first phase of the program in the last week of February 2025, featuring a more diverse range of legal education topics based on real societal concerns. This meeting highlights the strong synergy between the Faculty of Law UGM and the DIY High Prosecutor’s Office, particularly in delivering high-quality and impactful community service.
