Lecturers from the Civil Law Department Faculty of Law UGM, Prof. Dr. Tata Wijayanta, S.H., M.Hum., and Dr. R. A. Antari Inaka Turningsih, S.H., M.H., that also a member of The Notary Regional Supervisory Board and the Notary Regional Supervisory Board of Sleman Regency attended an important meeting at UC Hotel Resto, Yogyakarta. The meeting, which was held on Tuesday (21/5/24), was attended by a number of public notaries and representatives from the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (Kanwil Kemenkumham DIY). Several public notaries who attended included Notary Pandam Nurwulan, Notary Heri Sabto, Notary Ikhwanul Muslimin, and Notary Sumendro, as well as other officials from the Kanwil Kemenkumham DIY.
The main agenda of this meeting is to discuss the role and responsibilities of notary and the land deed officials in providing a legal service to the public, including the deed drafting, legal opinion, and other legal services. This discussion also highlighted the importance of maintaining the rules for the general officials in carrying out their duty, in order to prevent misconduct to the public. This event aimed to increase the public trust for the legal institutions.
This meeting is in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially with the 16th point that focuses on the peace, justice, and strong institutions. This step is also a real commitment in creating a justice and transparent legal service for the public.
