The UGM Faculty of Law, through its Legal Consultation and Assistance Centre (PKBH), and Kejati DIY visited Wonosari Village, Gunungkidul, as part of the Datun Suluh Praja program of Kejati DIY. This program takes the form of a legal outreach session, with content tailored to the specific needs of the village, held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
"In cases involving bank collateral and joint marital assets, the Religious Court can order the division of assets," explained Herliana, S.H., M.ComLaw., Ph.D., one of the resource persons and a lecturer at the UGM Faculty of Law.
Alongside Herliana, PKBH also invited Dr. Yulkarnain Harahab, S.H., M.Si. and Muhammad Jibril, S.H., M.PrivateLaw as faculty resource persons. On this occasion, the three resource persons addressed the theme "Bank Collateral Seizure (Sita Agunan Bank)," a primary concern for Wonosari Village.
This collaboration under the Suluh Praja program reflects a collaborative effort by the UGM Faculty of Law, running for the past two years alongside Kejati DIY. The program aims to strengthen legal outreach through a participatory approach, delivering greater benefit to grassroots communities who often struggle to access legal information. Beyond this, the initiative aligns with Points 11 and 16 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which include efforts to improve community access to fair and equitable legal services.
