On Wednesday, May 18, 2022, the FH UGM Student Executive Board (Dema Justicia), in partnership with the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM), conducted the inaugural installment of its legal outreach series on the theme "Systematics of Land Inheritance Distribution under Civil Inheritance Law." The session was organized as part of Dema Justicia FH UGM's Fostered Village (Desa Binaan) program. Held at the Merdikorejo Village Hall, the assembly was attended by 33 members of the village administration, primarily comprising local hamlet heads (Kepala Dukuh).
The proceedings commenced with an introduction from the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems, Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., M.A., LL.M., who presented the e-Consultation feature developed by FH UGM's Legal Consultation and Aid Center (PKBH UGM). He explained that this digital platform enables the general public to access legal guidance on various issues and receive expert feedback from qualified specialists.
The program featured two primary speakers: Muhammad Akbar, an FH UGM student (class of 2019) with a focus on Commercial Law, and Dr. Ninik Darmini, S.H., M.Hum., a lecturer from FH UGM's Department of Civil Law.
Both the speakers and the Dema Justicia organizing committee noted the high level of participant engagement throughout the workshop. This enthusiasm was particularly evident during the Q&A segment, where numerous attendees raised inquiries based on real-world challenges they had encountered in their capacity as village officials, especially concerning the complexities of land inheritance. The outreach session concluded with a feedback segment where participants completed questionnaires regarding the material presented. The gathering also included interactive discussions intended to solidify the community's understanding of the legal concepts covered and to foster a greater awareness of legal issues within their social environment.
