On Sunday, May 15, 2022, the Catholic Student Association (Keluarga Mahasiswa Katolik/KMK) and the Christian Student Fellowship (Persekutuan Mahasiswa Kristen/PMK) of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM), conducted a joint blood donation drive. The activity was organized in commemoration of the Easter season, following an earlier celebration on April 23, 2022. Beyond its social impact, the event was designed to solidify the bond of fellowship and institutional synergy between these two religious student organizations within the FH UGM academic community. The donation drive was held during the morning hours at the Indonesian Red Cross (Palang Merah Indonesia/PMI) Sleman Regency Branch. From a pool of 20 registered participants, 11 individuals successfully passed the requisite health screening and were cleared to proceed with their donations.
The gathering also welcomed the participation of the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems of FH UGM, Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL.M., M.A. In a show of institutional support, Dr. Jaka Triyana served as the inaugural donor for the day’s activities.
Collaborative social service initiatives are routinely organized by KMK and PMK FH UGM as a manifestation of solidarity and communal fellowship. While these organizations partner annually to commemorate Easter, the blood donation drive was introduced this year as a foundational milestone for the organizing committee. The program’s primary objective was to facilitate a meaningful contribution to the community by supporting essential healthcare requirements through voluntary blood provision.
This synergy between the Faculty’s Semi-Autonomous Organizations (Lembaga Semi Otonom/LSO) is expected to foster continued engagement within FH UGM’s broader community service framework, to cultivate more intimate connections and involve a wider range of institutional partners in future endeavors.
