Wijimulyo, Kulon Progo, Monday, June 12, 2023 -- Wijimulyo Village was the first host of the legal outreach series titled "Datun Suluh Praja Legal Outreach," addressing the themes of mining and land. The session was attended by village officials, who play an important role in overseeing and managing the local area.
Two resource persons with relevant expertise attended this session: Prof. Dr. Nurhasan Ismail, S.H., M.Si., Professor at the Faculty of Law specializing in land law, and Muhammad Jibril, S.H., M.PrivateLaw., a lecturer from the Department of Civil Law. Both bring deep knowledge and experience in mining and land law.
Muhammad Jibril, as the first resource person, explained the regulations and laws governing the mining sector. He addressed mining permits, mining companies' corporate social responsibility, and the importance of balancing mining activities with environmental conservation.
Prof. Nurhasan Ismail, as the second resource person, addressed land-related issues. He provided insight into the policy and regulatory framework governing land use and management, including problems commonly encountered in the land context within Wijimulyo Village.
Kejati DIY also presented at this session on the Duties and Authority of the Civil and State Administrative Division (Datun) at the High Prosecutor's Office. The Datun division generally focuses on preventive efforts. This is the underlying rationale for the collaboration between Kejati DIY and FH UGM in conducting legal outreach sessions that go directly into villages across the Yogyakarta Special Region, addressing the specific legal issues being experienced.
During the discussion session, participants actively raised questions and shared the challenges they commonly face in overseeing and managing mining and land matters in Wijimulyo Village. The resource persons patiently provided clear answers and relevant solutions in line with the applicable law. The session concluded with a group photo.
