This appointment also reaffirms UGM’s commitment to advancing legal education that is relevant to the social dynamics of society and aligned with the principles of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

For more than a decade, Dr. Hartini has been recognized as an academic who has consistently contributed to the advancement of Islamic legal studies, both through in-depth scholarly research and practical application in case resolution. Her expertise in the field of Islamic legal dispute resolution has made her a key figure in promoting substantive justice and providing contextually relevant legal solutions. With her appointment as a full professor, it is hoped that the quality of education in the Department of Islamic Law will continue to improve and produce a new generation of scholars and legal practitioners who are adaptable to the challenges of the times.

Dr. Hartini’s appointment as a full professor is also closely linked to the achievement of the SDGs. Her appointment supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by raising academic standards and the quality of education in the field of Islamic law.
