The Master of Litigation Law Program at the UGM Faculty of Law held an inauguration ceremony for the new committee of the Litigation Law Graduate Student Association (Keluarga Magister Hukum Litigasi/KMHLi-FH UGM) on Saturday, August 24, 2024. The ceremony was led by Program Head Dr. Supriyadi, S.H., M.Hum., and attended by students of the program.
In his remarks, Dr. Supriyadi emphasized the important role that student organizations play in building solidarity, developing leadership skills, and preparing students to contribute actively in both the legal profession and society. The new committee is expected to carry forward programs that support academic and social development, and to contribute to a conducive academic environment.
The inauguration of the KMHLI board members was important not only for the organization’s internal development, but also for supporting several points of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This activity aligns with SDG 4 on Quality Education, which encourages the improvement of educational quality through active student participation in organizations. Through organizational involvement, students are able to develop essential soft skills, such as leadership, communication, and management, which are important for their future careers as legal professionals.
In addition, the activity also supports SDG 16 on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. KMHLI is expected to serve as a platform for students to practice inclusive and fair organizational management, enabling them to apply the principles of justice and peace both within campus life and later in their professional careers.
With the new KMHLi committee now in place, it is hoped that future programs will support the academic and social development of students, and strengthen the network between students, lecturers, and alumni in the Master of Litigation Law Program at the UGM Faculty of Law.
