Reaching Legal Dreams: SMAN 2 Kediri Students Visit UGM Faculty of Law

On January 17, 2025, a group of enthusiastic students from SMAN 2 Kediri embarked on an educational journey to the Faculty of Law at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). He emphasized the importance of legal education in shaping a just society and how students can contribute to this goal through their future careers. The students listened attentively, eager to learn about the pathways that could lead them to their dreams of becoming lawyers.

Almonika Cindy Fatika Sari also took the opportunity to discuss the significance of customary law in Indonesia. She explained how understanding local traditions and legal frameworks is essential for aspiring lawyers, especially in a diverse country like Indonesia. This discussion resonated with the students, many of whom expressed a desire to engage with their communities through legal advocacy.

The visit was not only informative but also interactive. Students participated in a Q&A session, where they posed questions about the admission process, scholarship opportunities, and the overall student experience at UGM. This engagement fostered a sense of partnership between the students and the faculty, reflecting the SDG's emphasis on collaboration in education.

As the visit concluded, the students expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn more about the Faculty of Law. Many of them left with a renewed sense of purpose and motivation to pursue their legal studies. The experience not only broadened their horizons but also reinforced the importance of education in achieving their dreams.

This visit exemplifies the commitment of UGM to promote quality education and foster partnerships that benefit students and society. By engaging with high school students, the Faculty of Law is taking proactive steps to inspire future generations and ensure that they are well-equipped to tackle the challenges of the legal profession.

In conclusion, the visit of SMAN 2 Kediri students to UGM Faculty of Law serves as a reminder of the vital role education plays in shaping the future.
