MIH UGM Jakarta Holds Focus Group Discussion on Curriculum Review to Improve the Quality of Legal Education

On Saturday (January 25, 2025), a hybrid Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was held at MIH UGM (Jakarta Campus) from January 23 to 25, 2025. This activity is crucial for the study program to conduct a comprehensive review, evaluation, and adjustment of the curriculum, guided by the provisions applicable at the Faculty of Law UGM.

One crucial point is to solicit input from various stakeholders and related parties to open up a space for constructive discourse in this curriculum review. Therefore, holding a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to review the curriculum of the MIH UGM (Jakarta Campus) Study Program is a strategic step in improving the quality of education.

This curriculum review will invite various stakeholders, including lecturers, alumni, legal practitioners, and students, with a total of 80 attendees to provide constructive input on the existing curriculum. This is not only aimed at fulfilling the minimum credit requirements but also to ensure that the curriculum can meet the challenges and needs of the ever-evolving legal world.

The event was opened by Ninik Darmini, Head of the Study Program, and moderated by Agustina Merdekawati, Secretary of the Study Program. The lively discussion garnered constructive input to enrich perspectives in developing the new curriculum. Through input from various parties, the FGD encouraged innovation in teaching and learning methods in the UGM MIH Study Program (Jakarta Campus), including the application of information technology in the educational process.

This FGD also aligns with UGM's vision as a higher education institution committed to producing high-quality graduates capable of making significant contributions to society. Through continuous curriculum evaluation and development, the UGM MIH Study Program, Jakarta Campus, hopes to enhance the competitiveness of its graduates and the relevance of legal education to practical practice.
