Aisyah Adibah Hasmiar, a law student at Gadjah Mada University (FH UGM), has been selected as one of the delegates for the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) Harvard Conference 2025. This prestigious conference addresses critical issues in the Asia-Pacific region, including economic, political, and social matters. Each year, HPAIR organizes two student-led conferences, one at Harvard and one in the Asia-Pacific region.
This conference, held at Harvard, was themed “Generational Transitions: Passing the Torch, Paving the Way.” The conference featured interdisciplinary discussion sessions that encouraged critical and innovative thinking in addressing global challenges. Aisyah and the other delegates had the opportunity to engage in discussions with renowned speakers, such as Mitch Presnick, founder of Super 8 Hotels China; Jing Liao, Chief Administrative Officer at Solera; and Janika Oza, author of the novel *A History of Burning*.
In addition to panel sessions, the conference also provided delegates with the opportunity to interact more closely with speakers through lectures and executive seminars. One of the sessions Aisyah attended was a lecture by William Kirby, Professor of Chinese Studies at Harvard University, who discussed business, economic, political, and educational developments in China within an international context. Not only that, Aisyah also attended a lecture delivered by Vishaka Rajesh Maheswari, CEO of IndiaFirst Life Insurance Company. In this session, she learned about leadership strategies in multinational companies as well as the legal, political, and economic challenges emerging in the era of artificial intelligence and advanced science.

By participating in the 2025 HPAIR Harvard Conference, Aisyah not only brought the name of the UGM Faculty of Law to the international stage, but also strengthened her global network and honed her leadership skills for the future.
