The Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University held a graduation ceremony for the second batch of undergraduate students for the 2024/2025 academic year in the Auditorium on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. A total of 60 undergraduate graduates participated in the ceremony. Of that number, 40 graduates received the cum laude distinction, with the highest GPA of 3.87. This GPA was achieved by a graduate named Serafim Parahita Pawestri. Additionally, 19 graduates received the “highly satisfactory” distinction, and one graduate received the “satisfactory” distinction.
The Undergraduate Graduation Ceremony was opened by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation, Prof. Adrianto Dwi Nugroho, S.H., Adv.LL.M., LL.D. Following the opening remarks, the graduates stepped onto the stage one by one to receive their diplomas. Prof. Adrianto, together with the Head of the Undergraduate Program, Dr. Wahyu Yun Santoso, S.H., M.Hum., LL.M., symbolically presented the diplomas and congratulated the graduates.
Serafim Parahita Pawestri, the graduate with the highest GPA for that period, delivered a speech on behalf of the other graduates. Serafim expressed her gratitude and apologized to the entire academic community of the UGM Faculty of Law for the knowledge, experience, and dedication they had provided. In her speech, Serafim also recounted her journey, which was full of twists and turns, during her time as a student. Ultimately, she graduated from the UGM Faculty of Law.
The next speech was delivered by Fanni Eryanto, a parent representative. She expressed her pride in her child for successfully graduating from one of Indonesia’s top universities, Gadjah Mada University. Fanni expressed gratitude for the guidance provided by the faculty members, which enabled the students to graduate with good grades. This graduation ceremony brought back nostalgic memories of her own time as a UGM student 26 years ago.
The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Collaboration, Prof. Adrianto Dwi Nugroho, noted that nearly half of the graduates were students who enrolled in 2020. That year, students faced the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced them to study online. Subsequently, students from that cohort also had to readjust during the post-COVID-19 transition period. Nevertheless, they managed to navigate these challenges successfully. Prof. Adrianto said the graduates should be proud of this achievement. He urged the graduates to be graduates of integrity and to always remember their alma mater.
