The Master of Laws (MIH) Program at UGM organized an academic field lecture for its Victimology course on Monday, October 28, 2024, visiting the Yogyakarta Representative Office of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (Lembaga Perlindungan Saksi dan Korban/LPSK). The event was attended by approximately 40 students from the MIH program who are taking the Victimology course.
The event attended by Dr. Diana Batchelor, a visiting lecturer from the University of Sheffield, who contributed perspectives on victimology and witness and victim protection.
The session opened with remarks from the Head of the LPSK office, followed by a substantive presentation by Yuli Yuliah, S.H., an alumna of the UGM Master of Laws Program covering LPSK's duties and functions, its branch office network, its role in handling cases across Indonesia, and how it works in partnership with other institutions.
The students showed strong enthusiasm for the material presented during the session. More than six students asked questions during the discussion, covering topics such as the government's role in witness and victim protection and the operational organization of LPSK.
The visit concluded with an office tour, giving students a firsthand look at the agency's working environment and facilities.
