"From FH UGM to Your Dream Job #12": LCDC Explores Career Opportunities as a Judge for Law Graduates

As a manifestation of its commitment to supporting student career development, the Law Career Development Center (LCDC) of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada, successfully organized the Pre-Graduation Career Preparation Program for Undergraduate Students, Academic Year 2024/2025, Period III, on Friday, May 23, 2025. This initiative constitutes a regular agenda of the LCDC, consistently held before graduation periods. Its primary objective is to equip prospective graduates with essential knowledge regarding the job recruitment process, career opportunities, legal challenges, and effective strategies for navigating employment selection processes.

On this occasion, the theme carried was "From FH UGM to Your Dream Job #12: Career Opportunities for Law Graduates as Judges." The keynote speaker was Dr. Nani Indrawati, S.H., M.Hum., a Justice of the Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia. The event commenced with welcoming remarks from Dr. Wahyu Yun Santoso, S.H., M.Hum., LL.M., Head of the Undergraduate Program at the Faculty of Law, UGM, who emphasized that this activity serves as a valuable initiative to assist graduates in identifying career paths aligned with their potential and interests.

Moderated by Taufiq Adiyanto, S.H., LL.M., the session proceeded in an interactive and informative manner. Dr. Nani Indrawati opened her session by elaborating on the roles and responsibilities of judges. She subsequently provided an in-depth explanation of the workflow within the judiciary and the qualifications necessary for pursuing a judicial career.

This career preparation program also reflects the active contribution of the Faculty of Law, UGM, toward the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 on Quality Education and Goal 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth. By offering access to relevant career information and equipping students with the skills and insights necessary for the professional world, LCDC FH UGM plays a vital role in producing graduates who are not only professionally competitive but also capable of making positive societal contributions. This initiative exemplifies the synergy between higher education and sustainable, inclusive development.
