To commemorate the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) held a religious lecture titled “Reflections on the Commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday (peace be upon him) for National and State Life.” The event took place in Room 3.1.1 of Building III at the UGM Faculty of Law on Wednesday (September 10, 2025).
The lecture featured Ustaz Sukirman, S.H., as the keynote speaker. In his sermon, Ustaz Sukirman encouraged all participants to emulate the moral character of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the foundation for building a civilized society, nation, and state.
The event was attended by various members of the UGM Faculty of Law’s academic community, including faculty members, support staff, Campus Security Unit (SKK) personnel, and cleaning service staff. The presence of these diverse groups demonstrated a spirit of togetherness and camaraderie in commemorating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Through this activity, it is hoped that the exemplary values of the Prophet Muhammad SAW can be further internalized in daily life, both in the workplace and in the broader community.
This religious study session is also aligned with efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By strengthening moral values and a sense of togetherness, this event contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by providing inclusive character and spiritual education. Furthermore, this event reflects SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by instilling the values of justice, peace, and tolerance in national and civic life. The participation of all members of the academic community, regardless of their roles or positions, demonstrates a concrete practice of SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by prioritizing equality and solidarity.
