On Monday (February 17, 2025), the Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kyushu University in Japan. This partnership marks an important step in strengthening global academic collaboration while supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Through this MoU, both universities are committed to developing joint research projects, student and faculty exchange programs, and organizing collaborative seminars and workshops. This initiative is expected to enhance the quality of legal education while strengthening cross-cultural understanding among the academic community.
This collaboration aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 on quality education, Goal 16 on peace, justice, and strong institutions, and Goal 17 on global partnerships. Through this collaboration, the UGM Faculty of Law and Kyushu University aim to make a tangible contribution to sustainable development, particularly by addressing legal challenges in developing countries such as human rights, environmental law, and access to justice.
This collaboration marks an important milestone for the UGM Faculty of Law in strengthening its international network and supporting the development of legal education that is relevant to global dynamics.
