On Tuesday (3/6/2025), the Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University (UGM), through its Legal Consultation and Assistance Center (PKBH), in collaboration with the DIY Provincial Prosecutor's Office, successfully conducted a legal education program titled “Suluh Praja” at the Sumberagung Village Office, Jetis Sub-District, Bantul Regency, DIY Province. This legal education program aimed to provide legal insights and knowledge to the participants, including village officials and the surrounding community, regarding common legal issues. This edition of Suluh Praja focused on the theme “Village Regulation Formation and Public Information Transparency” to provide legal insights into the importance of understanding the fundamentals of Village Regulation Formation and Public Information Transparency within the hierarchical framework of existing laws and regulations.

The event began at 9:30 AM with an opening speech by Mr. Yudi Fahrudin, S.E., the Village Head of Sumberagung, followed by a joint performance of the Indonesian national anthem. The event continued with a presentation byYe Oceng Almahdaly, S.H., M.H., along with his team from the DIY High Prosecutor's Office, who presented material on the duties, principles, and functions of the civil and administrative law division of the Indonesian Attorney General's Office.

Next, the legal education material was presented by a lecturer from the Faculty of Law at UGM, Andy Omara, S.H., M.Pub&Int.Law., Ph.D., who discussed the topic of “Formation of Village Regulations” to provide the latest insights to village officials regarding the stages of forming village regulations. Subsequently, the presentation of the material was conducted by Dr. Harry Purwanto, S.H., M.H., to provide insights into the importance of public information transparency and its relationship with classification and information flow.

All speakers, both from the DIY Prosecutor's Office and the Faculty of Law at UGM, actively participated in the question-and-answer session with the village officials. Most questions addressed issues related to principles and overlapping regulations, with answers focusing on the philosophical, legal, and sociological foundations of a regulation and the formal validity of village regulations.

The presentation of materials by all speakers was delivered interactively and engagingly, facilitating effective discussions. The lecturer also answered participants' questions clearly and practically.

It is hoped that this legal outreach program will support SDG 11 by fostering positive social relations through open public information, SDG Goal 10 regarding the conduct of public hearings to foster synergy and reduce disparities within the village, and SDG Goal 16 to promote peace, justice, and strong institutions, beginning with the enforcement of village government regulations in accordance with applicable legal provisions.
