The Faculty of Law at Universitas Gadjah Mada marked its 74th Dies Natalis in February 2020. A series of commemoration activities were held, beginning with a flower-laying ceremony at the graves of several deceased Faculty of Law lecturers, and an anjangsana (courtesy visit) to a number of retired lecturers. A joint exercise session for the entire academic community was held on February 7, 2020, followed by a National Seminar titled "Opportunities and Challenges on the Road to an Omnibus Law in Indonesia" on February 13, 2020. Additional events included a Cultural Night on February 14 and a Leisure Cycling Event ("Goes FH 2020") on February 16. The culminating event of the 74th Dies Natalis was the Open Senate Session on February 17, 2020, during which a series of Cooperation Agreement signings between the Faculty of Law and various partners was also held. The Open Senate Session agenda included a report from the Dean on the Faculty of Law's Tri Dharma activities and achievements throughout 2019, followed by an Academic Oration delivered by Prof. Dr. Dra. Sulistyowati Irianto, M.A., titled "Legal Education for Indonesia's Future: A Critical Note."
As part of the Open Senate Session, cooperation agreements were signed between the UGM Faculty of Law and a range of partners -- encompassing central government institutions, regional governments, universities, and non-governmental institutions. Central government partners included the Directorate General for the Preparation of Transmigration Zones and Settlement Development at the Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration; the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Yogyakarta Special Region; and the Secretariat General of the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU). Regional government partners included the City Government of Yogyakarta and the Regional Government of Rembang Regency. University partners included the Faculties of Law at Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta, Universitas Negeri Semarang, Universitas Islam Negeri Walisongo (Faculty of Sharia and Law), Universitas Muhammadiyah Buton, Universitas Tujuh Belas Agustus 1945 Semarang, and Universitas Medan Area. The non-governmental partner was PT Sistem Kodifikasi dan Informasi Hukum Elektronik (ECLIS). The UGM Faculty of Law was represented at all signings by Dean Prof. Dr. Sigit Riyanto, S.H., LL.M.
The signing ceremony concluded with a group photo of the UGM Faculty of Law Dean alongside representatives of the partner institutions, followed by a closing luncheon and a social gathering among all partners, guests, and attendees.
