UGM Faculty of Law, NRGS, and PT Pertamina (Persero) Continue the 2026 Pertamina Mini Master of Laws Program in Its Third Week of Instruction

The Faculty of Law of Universitas Gadjah Mada, through the Natural Resources Governance Studies (NRGS), in collaboration with PT Pertamina (Persero) through Pertamina Corporate University, continued the implementation of the 2026 Pertamina Mini Master of Laws Program as it entered its third week of instruction. The program was conducted on Saturday and Sunday, 23–24 May 2026, at the UGM Master of Laws Jakarta Campus.

The 2026 Pertamina Mini Master of Laws Program is a strategic training initiative designed to strengthen legal literacy and understanding among participants from PT Pertamina (Persero) and its subsidiaries. The program is specifically tailored for professionals without a legal background, equipping them with practical and relevant legal knowledge to support strategic decision-making in the context of business, corporate governance, and the energy industry.

During the third week, instruction was delivered through two parallel classes, Class A and Class B, covering advanced business law, competition law, transnational business law, dispute resolution, bankruptcy law, and suspension of debt payment obligations. The curriculum was designed to provide participants with a more comprehensive understanding of legal issues relevant to modern business practices and corporate governance.

On Saturday, 23 May 2026, participants attended sessions on Comparative Competition Law and Transnational Business Law. The Comparative Competition Law session was delivered by Prof. Dr. Drs. Paripurna, S.H., M.Hum., LL.M., Professor of Business Law at the UGM Faculty of Law. The session explored the historical development of competition law in Indonesia, the Indonesian economic system, and its relationship with competition law. Meanwhile, the Transnational Business Law session was delivered by Prof. M. Hawin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D., Professor of Business Law at the UGM Faculty of Law, who discussed the fundamentals of international trade, including its history, objectives, the structure of the World Trade Organization (WTO), and the basic principles and rules governing the WTO and GATT.

On Sunday, 24 May 2026, the program continued with sessions on Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution and Bankruptcy Law and Suspension of Debt Payment Obligations (PKPU). The Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution session was delivered by Herliana, S.H., M.Com.Law., Ph.D., a lecturer in Civil Procedure Law at the UGM Faculty of Law. The session provided an overview of dispute resolution mechanisms, mediation, and arbitration as essential tools for resolving business disputes effectively. The Bankruptcy Law and PKPU session was delivered by Prof. Dr. Tata Wijayanta, S.H., M.Hum., Professor of Civil Law at the UGM Faculty of Law, who discussed the fundamentals of bankruptcy and PKPU in Indonesia, their objectives, and comparative perspectives from other jurisdictions.

As part of the learning evaluation process, Post-Test 1 was administered at the conclusion of the sessions. The assessment aimed to measure participants’ understanding of the materials covered during previous sessions. In addition to serving as an evaluation instrument, the post-test provided participants with an opportunity to reflect on how the legal knowledge they had acquired could be applied to their professional responsibilities and corporate practice.
