Royhan Akbar, S.H., L.L.M., a lecturer from the Business Law Department at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), was one of the speakers at the Centre of Commercial Law in Asia at Singapore Management University during the seminar titled "Indonesian Corporate Law and Governance: Expert Analysis on Timely Issues". The seminar was held on Saturday (27/8/24).
The seminar provided an overview of the latest developments in Indonesian corporate law, with in-depth analysis on the elimination of independent directors and corporate governance in startups.
In his presentation, Royhan Akbar, S.H., L.L.M. discussed issues surrounding independent directors and commissioners in Indonesia, offering insights into recent research based on empirical evidence and case studies. His presentation was followed by perspectives from practitioners who shared how these research findings are applied in practice.
The event concluded with a Q&A session and closing remarks from a professor at Singapore Management University.
