BLC Faculty of Law UGM Delegates Successfully Achieved the 3rd Position in National Contract Drafting Competition

On August 2024, delegates from Faculty of Law UGM with the code number ABLCDC-07 had successfully achieved a new achievement. As a member of Business Law Community (BLC) FH UGM, they have achieved the 3rd position in National Contract Drafting Competition. This competition was organized by Atma Jaya Business Law Society in Universitas Katolik Atma Jaya Jakarta.

This Contract Drafting Competition was divided into 2 rounds. The first round was the preliminary round that was attended by 12 teams from universities all over Indonesia. The second round was the final round that was attended by 5 teams. Those teams then consisted by 2 teams from Universitas Gadjah Mada, 2 teams from Universitas Trisakti, and 1 team from Universitas Padjajaran.

This competition raised the theme of “Escalating the Development of Renewable Energy through Green Project Financing”. This theme was focusing on the contract drafting for the Solar Power Plant construction in one of the city in Indonesia. This drafting was started by the announcement of the case position by the committee, and proceeded with the case development by the delegates from FH UGM. The delegates also conducted a deep research by consulted with the experts, practitioners and the academics to support their contract drafting and to expand their knowledge that can be used for this competition. After the draft have been finished and submitted to the committee, the delegates with the code number BLCDC-07 were announced to go to the final round. 

On the final round, not like other contract drafting competitions that including a negotiation practice, the delegates are asked to presentate the articles on the contract and other related points. Besides presenting the contract, the delegates also listened to the verbal adjudication from the judges regarding their contract and the presentation.

The delegates from Faculty of Law UGM for the Contract Drafting Competition were consisted of 6 delegates and 1 official, which were Alexandra Lisa Wijaya as Head of Delegation (2022), Marselina Setiyowati (2022), Rafaela Maria Kenya Mutiastu (2022), Nasywa Anandhita Bilal (2022), Nindy Rahmadani (2022), Maria Melina Pentika (2022), and Putri Anjani Aprillia as official (2022) under the guidance of Dr. Taufiq El Rahman, S.H., M.Hum. as a supervisor.

Not to be forgotten, all members of the UGM Faculty of Law delegation for the Contract Drafting Competition were deeply grateful for all the prayers and hard work the team put into producing the best possible results for UGM. The delegation's achievements were inextricably linked to the support of various parties who assisted them. It is hoped that UGM Faculty of Law students will continue to bring honor to their alma mater, both nationally and internationally.
