The BPPM Mahkamah Delegation Wins First Place in the 2023 IR-Ticles Aesthete Competition

The delegation team, led by the Mahkamah Student Executive Board (BPPM), successfully brought honor to the UGM Faculty of Law in the Finals of the IR-Ticles Aesthete 2023 National Paper Competition. The competition, organized by the International Relations Student Association (HIMA) of Padjadjaran University (Unpad), took place on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Unpad Faculty of Social and Political Sciences.

IR-Ticles itself is part of the Aesthete 2023 series. IR-Ticles serves as a platform for developing the interests and talents of Indonesian students in academic writing and is open to all Indonesian students. The competition takes the form of writing an academic paper based on a comprehensive case study. This year, IR-Ticles focused on the overarching theme of Democracy: “Further Than the Eye Can See” (Economic-Political Democracy).

The delegation team, consisting of Christantyna Ashley Tjen (2022), Muhammad Yusuf Aryotejo (2022), and Lintang Dyah Persada (2022), submitted a paper titled “The Urgency of Establishing a Special Committee for the Protection of Minority Rights.” The paper advanced to the final round alongside delegations from Brawijaya University, Padjadjaran University, and the University of Indonesia. In the final round, the delegates were asked to present their papers and answer questions from the panel of judges. At the end of the competition, the paper submitted by the UGM Faculty of Law delegation was named First Place.

In recognition of this award, all delegation members expressed their gratitude for all the assistance, support, and prayers that guided them to achieve this accomplishment for their beloved alma mater, Gadjah Mada University. The delegation members sincerely hope that UGM Law School students will continue to excel, particularly in the field of legal writing.
