UGM Faculty of Law CIMC Delegation Achieves Success in the 2023 ICC Moot Court Competition

The Community of International Moot Court (CIMC) from the UGM Faculty of Law once again sent a delegation to participate in the International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition (ICC-MCC). This year, the ICC-MCC 2023 was held in The Hague, the Netherlands, on June 2–9, 2023. The delegation consisted of Dwinta Gusti Prameswari (2020), Fikri Fahmi Faruqi (2020), Stephani Gabriella Wijayawati (2021), Ken Penggalih (2021), Najya Hani Assegaf (2022), and Stephanie Novena Eva Prasetyo (2022) as manager.

The ICC Moot Court Competition is an international mock criminal trial competition, which this year was participated in by 87 teams from various countries. Each delegation was divided into several roles: Defense Counsel, Prosecutor Counsel, and Government Counsel. The competition was judged based on the submitted briefs and the scores for oral arguments or defense presentations.

Di bawah bimbingan Devita Kartika Putri, S.H., LL.M. dan para coaches lainnya, delegasi FH UGM berhasil menjadi satu-satunya delegasi dari Indonesia yang maju hingga babak semifinal. Dengan usaha dan kerja keras, para delegasi berhasil meraih ranking 14 dari 87 tim di babak preliminary rounds. and 6th Best Prosecution Memorial. Selain itu, Stephani Gabriella Wijayawati berhasil meraih penghargaan sebagai 2nd Runner-Up Best Government Speaker and 6th Best Defense Speaker.

In light of this achievement, the delegates expressed their gratitude for the support provided by Gadjah Mada University, the coaches and alumni, as well as the sponsors who helped prepare the team, enabling them to win various awards and bring honor to Indonesia on the international stage. It is our sincere hope that more and more students from the UGM Faculty of Law will bring pride to their alma mater and to Indonesia through their achievements.
