Dian Agung Wicaksono, S.H., LL.M., played an active role in providing insight and reinforcing knowledge during a legal outreach session in Canden Village on Monday (November 20, 2023). During this event, Dian Agung provided extensive clarification regarding the respective authorities of the National Land Agency (BPN), Land Deed Officers (PPAT), and the village administration. This activity is part of the External Legal Education Grant Program (HPHE) organized by the Legal Aid Consultation Center (PKBH) of the UGM Faculty of Law.
This program was designed with the primary objective of providing the public—particularly policymakers at the village level—with a better understanding of the roles and responsibilities of each relevant agency in the context of land affairs. This aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16: peace, justice, and strong institutions.
The HPHE program highlights the crucial role of the National Land Agency (BPN) in administering land registration and managing land information; the Authorized Land Deed Officer (PPAT) as the party authorized to issue land deeds; and the village administration (Kalurahan) as a local government entity also involved in land management at the village level. Dian Agung Wicaksono stated, “Aligning the authorities of the BPN, PPAT, and village administrations is essential for establishing an efficient and transparent land management system. Through this program, we aim to provide the public with a better understanding to help prevent potential conflicts and ensure fairness in land ownership and management.”
The HPHE program received a positive response from participants, who included village officials, community leaders, and local policymakers. The participants expressed their appreciation for Dian Agung Wicaksono’s initiative, which they viewed as a concrete step toward improving legal literacy and understanding of land issues among the public.
