The Specialized Advocate Profession Education (Pendidikan Khusus Profesi Advokat/PKPA), 19th Cohort, 2026 was officially concluded on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in a ceremony held in hybrid format at Room 3.1.1 of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM). The closing marks the end of the full series of PKPA XIX classes - a program delivered through a collaboration between FH UGM and the Indonesian Advocates Association - Rumah Bersama Advokat (Perhimpunan Advokat Indonesia/PERADI RBA).
The closing ceremony was attended by representatives from both FH UGM and PERADI RBA. The FH UGM delegation was represented by Prof. Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL.M., M.A., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems; Dr. Yulkarnain Harahab, S.H., M.Si., Chair of the Legal Consultation and Assistance Centre (PKBH) FH UGM; and Virga Dwi Efendi, S.H., LL.M., Chair of the PKPA XIX Organizing Committee, together with other PKBH staff. The PERADI RBA delegation included Ahmad Fikri Assegaf, S.H., LL.M., Chair of the DPN PERADI National Executive Board; Muhamad Daud Berueh, S.H., Acting Secretary-General of DPN PERADI RBA; Emir Pohan, S.H., LL.M., Coordinator of the DPN PERADI RBA Transition Team (attending online); and Wijaya Kusuma, S.H., M.H., Chair of the PERADI RBA Bantul Regional Executive Committee (attending in person), along with other PERADI RBA Bantul committee members.
The closing ceremony commenced with a collective rendition of the national anthem, Indonesia Raya, and the UGM Hymn. A testimonial was then delivered by participant representative M. Rafly Rizky Prayoga, S.H., who shared his reflections on the PKPA program. In his address, he conveyed that the course content and practical sessions delivered by the instructors were felt to be directly relevant to -- and highly valuable as preparation for -- a career as a professional advocate of integrity. The ceremony continued with the delivery of the final report by the Chair of the PKPA XIX Organizing Committee, confirming that all participants had met the attendance requirements and been officially declared to have passed the program. Closing remarks were then delivered by the Chair of DPN PERADI, and the program was formally closed by the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems at FH UGM. Participants attending in person also received PKPA XIX merchandise in the form of a formal jacket; graduation certificates will be distributed separately as formal recognition of participants' successful completion of PKPA XIX.
The organization of PKPA XIX forms part of FH UGM's and PERADI RBA's contribution to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) -- in particular SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). Through this program, participants are expected not only to have acquired the academic and practical competencies required in the field of advocacy, but also to have internalized the values of integrity and professionalism in the practice of law enforcement in Indonesia. With the completion of PKPA XIX and the successful fulfillment of the professional education requirements, it is hoped that graduates will proceed toward the Advocate Profession Examination (Ujian Profesi Advokat/UPA) and go on to serve as advocates who uphold justice and professional ethics.
