The Research and Publication Unit (URP) of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM) organized the Launch and Information Session for Research Grants for Students, Faculty Members, and Research Centers on Tuesday (3/2/2026). Conducted via Zoom Meeting, the event marked a strategic initiative by FH UGM to strengthen an inclusive, collaborative, and solution-oriented research culture that addresses legal and social issues relevant to societal needs.
The event commenced with opening remarks by Prof. Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL.M., M.A., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of research as a foundation for the development of impactful legal scholarship, not only for advancing academic knowledge but also for informing public policy formulation and strengthening legal institutions. The research grant program is expected to serve as a catalyst for faculty members, students, and research centers to produce high-quality, relevant, and impactful research.
The main session was delivered by Fajri M. Muhamadin, Ph.D., Head of URP, and Almonika C.F. Sari, M.A., Secretary of URP. They provided a comprehensive overview of the research grant schemes available, including grant categories for students, faculty members, and research centers, proposal submission procedures, evaluation criteria, and the expected research outputs. The presentation was followed by an interactive discussion session, allowing participants to raise questions regarding implementation procedures and opportunities for interdisciplinary research collaboration.

Furthermore, support for legal research focusing on governance, justice, and public policy advances SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions). At the same time, collaboration among students, faculty members, and research centers reflects the spirit of partnership for sustainable development as envisioned under SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Through the launch and dissemination of these research grant opportunities, FH UGM reaffirms its commitment to strengthening a legal research ecosystem that is excellent, inclusive, and capable of generating meaningful contributions to sustainable development at both the national and global levels.
