The National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) is an annual event organized by Indonesia's Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, serving as the culminating showcase of the Student Creativity Program (PKM). In 2021, the 34th PIMNAS was hosted by Universitas Sumatera Utara in Medan. Held online from October 25–29, 2021, the event's theme was "Toward a Golden Indonesia through Collaboration for Innovation within a Framework of Local Wisdom." A total of 124 UGM teams competed at PIMNAS, helping UGM secure the overall championship title for the 4th consecutive year, with a combined total of 54 medals across poster and presentation categories.
The Adhikarta Kertawidya rotating trophy was presented by the Acting Head of the National Achievement Center, Asep Sukmayadi, to UGM's Vice Rector for Education, Teaching, and Student Affairs, Prof. Djagal Wiseso Marseno. The 34th PIMNAS results announcement was held in a hybrid format, with a limited in-person component attended by organizing committee members, judges, and guests, and was also shown through live streaming on YouTube on Saturday, October 29, 2021.
One of the Faculty of Law's PKM teams, competing in the Social Sciences and Humanities Research category (PKM-RSH), won a bronze medal in the presentation category, PKM RSH-3 class. The team was led by Nia Faridatul Khasanah (Law, class of 2019), with members Teguh Ihza Yuhirsah (Law, class of 2018), Whafiq Azizah Fadilla (Law, class of 2019), and Muhammad Farid Wajdi (Philosophy, class of 2019), supervised by Dian Agung Wicaksono, S.H., LL.M. Their research was titled "Cibuak Meriau: Examining Legal Culture in the Implementation of Handwashing Health Protocols Among the Minangkabau Community."
