Denny Wijaya (2021) and Nicholas Aurelius Karosta (2021) successfully achieved the 3rd position in Legal Opinion HIMSLAW Legal Competition BINUS. This competition was held hybrid format in Jakarta and through Zoom Meeting by Business Law Program BINUS on 19 February 2024. This competition was attended by approximately more than 30 teams from various university in Indonesia and conducted through 2 rounds, the draft selection and the final presentation.
On this national Legal Opinion competition, the delegation team under the name Nakamoto from Faculty of Law UGM had successfully compiled the Legal Opinion with the grand theme “Digital Transaction Form in Indonesian Legal Landscape”.In the process, both Deny and Nicholas conducted a comprehensive research relating to cryptocurrency, financial and banking system, along with the trade through the electronic system to file a Legal Opinion.
After going through the file drafting process for 2 months, Nakamoto Team had successfully submitted their best paper and was announced to proceed to the final presentation round. At this round, the Team will be competing against 4 other teams to present their Legal Opinion and answering critical questions from the judges. By their hard work, the Nakamoto Team was able to achieved the 3rd place in this competition.
This achievement is one of the goal from Faculty of Law UGM in developing a qualified education as one of the goals from Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This achievement serves as a motivation for the academic community of Universitas Gadjah Mada, especially the students of the Faculty of Law, to continue striving to bring honor to UGM. Denny and Nicholas, as the Nakamoto Delegation, expressed their gratitude for the support and prayers from various parties, which enabled them to deliver the best results for their beloved alma mater.
