Master of Law Jakarta Campus in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing had successfully conducted both the Legal Counseling and Legal Drafting Workshop. This event was held in person at Aviary Hotel Bintaro on Friday (3/5/2024). This event was attended by the staffs of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, including from the Law Department, head of the law affairs from 11 organizations unit, along with the functional officer in legislative drafting and legal analysis.
This event was a contribution from Faculty of Law UG, through Master of Law Program to the public, especially to the professionals that holds a Functional Legal Role in Ministry of Public Works and Housing. The main objective of this event is to provide the participants with a proper legal reasoning skill along with the knowledge in theory, basis, and the legal drafting principles, including in the Ministerial Regulation drafting, Ministerial Decision drafting, and Ministerial Circulars drafting. Hopefully, the participants are able to minimize the legal risk that possibly will result from these policies.
The event started at 09.15 with the opening remarks from Dr. Ninik Darmini, S.H., M.Hum., Head of the Study Program and the moderator for the first session. On this session, the presentation was delivered by Andy Omara, S.H., M.Pub&Int.Law., Ph.D. The second session will be opened by Dr. Agustina Merdekawati, S.H., LL.M., the Secretary of the Study Program, and the training session with Dr. Dian Agung Wicaksono, S.H., LL.M.
The presentation on the first session including the introduction to legal opinion and legal audit, the process and the basic framework of legal analysis, legal document tracing techniques, to legal opinionopinion provision strategies. While in the second session, the material focused on legal draftingParticipants were actively involved in the question and answer session, as well as case study discussions and simulations of preparing legal opinion, legal audit, and ministerial circulars.
Participants also attending the case study discussion that including the government legal aspect, along with the circulars drafting simulation. This event is beneficial in terms of developing the Civil Servants’ competence in the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, especially in preventing the legal risks that possibly resulted from these policies.
This workshop is considered beneficial for Civil Servant in the the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, especially in improving their legal skill that supports the government works.
