On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through its Natural Resources Governance Studies (NRGS) Center, in collaboration with PT Pertamina (Persero) via Pertamina Corporate University, officially launched the “Program Mini Magister Hukum Pertamina 2025”. The opening event was held at the Ballroom of Grha Pertamina, Central Jakarta, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM WIB, marking the beginning of the program series.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from the UGM Faculty of Law’s leadership and the NRGS team, as well as directors and management representatives from the Pertamina Holding Group, many of whom are also participants in the “Program Mini Magister Hukum Pertamina 2025”.
This program, a continuation of the previous year, is a training initiative organized by UGM's Faculty of Law through NRGS in partnership with PT Pertamina (Persero), focusing on enhancing understanding of legal aspects in business and corporate affairs. It targets managerial to executive-level participants from the Pertamina Holding Group. Running from May to November, the program comprises 10 courses that are credit-convertible towards postgraduate studies at UGM’s Master of Laws program in its Jakarta campus.
The event began with a program implementation report presented by Yulius S. Bulo, Vice President of Pertamina Corporate University at PT Pertamina (Persero), followed by opening remarks from Dr. Dahliana Hasan, S.H., M.Tax., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Law UGM. The program was officially opened by M. Erry Sugiharto, Director of Human Resources at PT Pertamina (Persero). Technical details of the classes were then presented by Muhammad Jibril, S.H., M.PrivateLaw., representing NRGS UGM.

A keynote lecture followed, delivered by Prof. Dr. Nindyo Pramono, S.H., M.S., a professor from the Faculty of Law UGM, titled “Developments in the Business Judgement Rule and State Loss Aspects Post-Enactment of the New SOE Law”. The session was moderated by Prof. Dr. Marsudi Triatmodjo, S.H., LL.M., also a professor at the UGM Faculty of Law. Business Judgement Rule dan Aspek Kerugian Negara Pasca UU BUMN Terbaru” serta dimoderatori oleh Prof. Dr. Marsudi Triatmodjo, S.H., LL.M. selaku Guru Besar Fakultas Hukum UGM.
The lecture addressed recent developments in the Business Judgement Rule (BJR), especially its application following the latest amendment to the State-Owned Enterprises Law, Law No. 1 of 2025, which also relates to the Danantara provision and its implementation for SOEs, particularly the Pertamina Holding Group.
Before the event concluded, a Q&A and discussion session was held based on the introductory lectures that had been delivered. The approximately 60 participants—most of whom came from non-legal backgrounds and represented PT Pertamina (Persero) and its various subsidiaries—actively asked questions and engaged in deeper discussions, particularly concerning current legal developments following the enactment of the revised State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Law and its implications for business processes within the Pertamina Holding Group.
The launch of the “Program Mini Magister Hukum Pertamina 2025” serves as a platform to foster collaboration between academia and the corporate sector—in this case, the UGM Faculty of Law and PT Pertamina (Persero)—to promote a broader understanding of legal knowledge that can be applied in daily business practices. This initiative supports the realization of several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education; Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions; and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
