On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, the Master of Notarial Studies (MKn) and Master of Law (MIH) programs at the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), hosted a working visit from the Faculty of Law at Riau Islamic University. The event took place in person in Room B.5.5 of the UGM Faculty of Law from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM WIB.
The visit was led by three moderators from the UGM Faculty of Law: Sri Wiyanti Eddyono, S.H., LL.M. (HR), Ph.D. (Head of the MIH Program, Faculty of Law, UGM), Rangga Dachlan, S.H., LL.M., M.Phil, D.Phil. (Secretary of the MIH Program, Faculty of Law, UGM), and Dr. Destri Budi Nugraheni, S.H., M.S.I. (Head of the MKn Program, Faculty of Law, UGM).
This event was a sharing session covering several topics, such as the implementation of Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Regulation No. 53 of 2023 in the operation of higher education institutions and an evaluation of the curricula of the Master’s Program in Notarial Studies and the Master’s Program in Law at the Faculty of Law, UGM. In addition, there was also extensive discussion regarding matters that need to be considered in the establishment of the Master’s Program in Notarial Studies and opportunities for academic and institutional collaboration related to this matter.

This initiative yielded a number of strategic points to serve as the foundation for strengthening inter-institutional cooperation. This will be implemented in phases, starting with joint academic activities and culminating in the drafting of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) as the formal basis for long-term cooperation. Additionally, this collaboration will continue as the Faculty of Law at the University of Islam Riau plans to establish a Master’s Program in Notarial Law, for which it will require guidance from the Master’s Program in Notarial Law at the Faculty of Law, UGM.
This working visit reflects the commitment of the administrators of the Master’s Program in Notarial Law at the Faculty of Law, UGM, to implementing points 4 and 17 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—namely, improving the quality of education and fostering partnerships to achieve these goals through the planning of various forms of collaboration with the Faculty of Law at the University of Islam Riau.
