To add to the excitement of the series of events celebrating the 79th anniversary of the UGM Faculty of Law, various competitions were also held. These competitions took place with the active participation of the UGM Faculty of Law academic community, including their families and relatives. The competitions included a talent show, a cooking contest, a stand-up comedy contest, and a series of sports competitions.
On Saturday (February 8, 2025), the UGM Faculty of Law hosted the “Justicia Kids’ Got Talent” competition with the theme “Be a Star in Everything You Do,” held in the Auditorium of Building B at the UGM Faculty of Law. The event was attended by children divided into two categories: Category 1 for children aged 4–7 years and 11 months, and Category 2 for children aged 8–12 years. The children who participated in this competition showcased a variety of interesting talents, ranging from singing, dancing, ventriloquism, and other fascinating talents. This competition was held in collaboration with the UGM Faculty of Law’s Kids Corner as an effort to empower and promote the entire UGM Faculty of Law academic community as well as external parties.
A “Stand-Up Comedy” contest with the theme “How Much Do You Know About the UGM Faculty of Law and Its Contributions to Society” was held in the Auditorium of Building B at the UGM Faculty of Law on Monday (February 10, 2025). The competition was a lively event with active participation from the entire UGM Faculty of Law academic community. In addition to adding to the festivities of the UGM Faculty of Law’s 79th anniversary, this event aimed to enhance the academic community’s knowledge of its surroundings through an engaging format.
Subsequently, the “Law Kitchen Competition” with the theme “Creative Tuna Fried Rice” was held in the Lobby of Building VII at the UGM Faculty of Law on Wednesday (February 12, 2025). The event was participated in by teams, each consisting of three members from groups of students, faculty members, staff, and various administrative units within the UGM Faculty of Law.
On Friday (February 14, 2025), the UGM Faculty of Law held a series of sports competitions under the theme “United in Spirit, Winning with Sportsmanship.” The series of competitions included a chess tournament held in Room A.201 of Building A at the UGM Faculty of Law, a table tennis tournament at the UGM Faculty of Law Wellness Center, and a tug-of-war competition on the Justicia Lawn. These competitions align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 on “Good Health and Well-being,” as they aim to promote a healthy lifestyle among the UGM Faculty of Law academic community through participation and collaboration in the organized activities.
The series of activities during the 79th Anniversary celebration of the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University, aims to enhance the hard and soft skills of the FH UGM academic community and their families through various competitions, sports, and other activities designed to balance the psychological, physical, and mental well-being of the participants.
In addition, these activities are designed to hone the knowledge and skills of the FH UGM academic community beyond formal legal training. This provides the academic community with opportunities to develop competencies in various fields relevant to both their professional and daily lives.
Furthermore, this series of events also focuses on strengthening bonds and enhancing cooperation among the UGM Faculty of Law academic community and their families, with participation extending beyond the academic community to include extended family, relatives, and UGM Faculty of Law alumni.
The 79th Anniversary Celebration of the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University, is not merely an annual celebration but a platform to strengthen collaboration, empowerment, and a sense of togetherness among the academic community and the extended family of the FH UGM. Through various activities designed to hone skills, strengthen bonds, and enhance collaboration among all parties, this year’s anniversary reflects the Faculty of Law’s commitment to continuous growth, adaptation, and making a positive impact on the entire academic community, while also serving as a step toward a more inclusive and empowered environment.
