A Total of 42 Graduates Attend the UGM Faculty of Law Graduation Ceremony

The UGM Faculty of Law’s Graduate School recently held the Graduation Ceremony for the Fourth Period of the 2022/2023 Academic Year on Wednesday (July 26). The ceremony, which took place in the Auditorium of Building B at the UGM Faculty of Law, was attended by 42 of the 48 graduates from five postgraduate program departments.

The graduation ceremony was opened by Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL.M., M.A., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems, and continued with the presentation of academic transcripts to the graduates, including the valedictorian. The handover of academic transcripts was conducted by the respective Heads of Postgraduate Programs: Head of the Master of Law Program, Sri Wiyanti Eddyono, S.H., LL.M.(HR)., Ph.D.; Head of the Master of Notarial Law Program, Dr. Destri Budi Nugraheni, S.H., M.SI.; Head of the Master’s Program in Business and Public Law, Irna Nurhayati, S.H., M.Hum., LL.M., Ph.D.; Secretary of the Master’s Program in Law in Jakarta, Dr. Ninik Darmini, S.H., M.Hum.; and Head of the Master’s Program in Litigation Law, Dr. Supriyadi, S.H., M.Hum.

During this graduation ceremony, the title of valedictorian was awarded to Erma Nuzulia Sfifa from the Master of Law program with a GPA of 3.94, who also received honors. In addition to Erma, honors were also awarded to I Kadek Sudiarsana from the Master of Law program and Irwan Efendi from the Master of Litigation Law program.

As the valedictorian, Erma Nuzulia Sfifa was chosen to deliver the commencement address. In her speech, Erma shared this message with the graduates: “A path full of opportunities and challenges lies ahead of us. The world out there awaits us to explore it and contribute our talents and knowledge. Believe in yourselves and never stop learning. We have extraordinary potential to make the world a better place. Wherever we may end up, uphold integrity and the value of justice.”

Following that, the ceremony continued with remarks by the Associate Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems, Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL.M., M.A. In his remarks, Jaka Triyana asked the graduates to bow and express their gratitude to their loved ones who have supported and encouraged them up to this point.

Jaka Triyana then returned the graduates to their parents, who had entrusted the Faculty of Law with the education of their sons and daughters: “These graduates are our academic children; you, ladies and gentlemen, are their biological parents. On this occasion, please allow us to return the graduates to their mothers, fathers, and guardians so they may begin a better life in the future as members of society.”

Congratulations to the graduates of the Graduate Program of the Faculty of Law, UGM, for Period IV. Hopefully the knowledge and experiences gained can be useful to society and the nation!
