On Saturday, December 17, 2022, Dr. Muhammad Reza Syariffudin Zaki, S.H., MA (known as Reza Zaki) was inaugurated as Chairman of KAGAMA Business Law (KAGAMA Hukum Bisnis) by Ganjar Pranowo, General Chairman of PP KAGAMA (the central board of UGM's alumni association). The inauguration was also attended by Zubet Rizal, S.H., who serves as Daily Manager (Pengurus Harian) of KAGAMA Business Law.
The event began with a National Working Meeting (Rapat Kerja Nasional) to prepare KAGAMA's work program for 2023. Zaki also outlined various programs aimed at increasing alumni contributions, particularly in responding to future business law issues. KAGAMA Business Law's membership includes academics, practitioners, and entrepreneurs, with some members being freshgraduates. The article notes that Indonesia's growing engagement with trade, investment, MSMEs (micro, small, and medium enterprises), and other economic sectors requires the involvement of business law thinkers to help the state prepare the necessary legal frameworks.
So far, KAGAMA Business Law has collaborated on a series of activities, including signing MoUs with KMMH UGM Yogyakarta and KMIH UGM Jakarta (graduate law student associations), holding an International Conference on Business Law, hosting Alumni Sharing sessions, supporting the National Legal Opinion and Contract Drafting Competition organized by BLC FH UGM, holding a Halal bi Halal (post-Eid gathering) event at Rumah KAGAMA Jakarta, and other productive activities aimed at bringing together the potential of FH UGM alumni and students.
