Students from the Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) have once again achieved a proud accomplishment at the national level. In the Contract Drafting and Negotiation Competition The 5th National Business Legal Talk (NBLT) 2025, organized by the Faculty of Law at Sebelas Maret University, the SKADI Team successfully secured second place in the competition. The SKADI Team consists of Khaira Aliya Maleeka (FH 2022), Nindy Rahmadani (FH 2022), Falens Nicanor (FH 2022), Cut Athaya Putri Khalishah (FH 2022), Marselina Setiyowati (FH 2022), dan Intania Widhia Ramadhani (FH 2022). This success not only demonstrates the legal reasoning skills of these six students but has also brought honor to UGM at the national level.
Through this competition, the SKADI Team was challenged to demonstrate their legal expertise by drafting a comprehensive business agreement, conducting in-depth legal analysis, and showcasing negotiation skills that would benefit all parties involved. In the process, they must draft and negotiate a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a Geothermal Power Plant (GPP) before a panel of judges on February 22, 2025, at the Faculty of Law, Sebelas Maret University. This challenge not only tests their mastery of business law but also their strategic, analytical, and communicative skills—all essential in modern legal practice. The opportunity to showcase academic and professional potential on a national platform like this also supports the achievement of SDG 10 on Reducing Inequalities by providing equal access for students from diverse backgrounds to compete and excel.
The SKADI Team’s success is attributable to thorough preparation, including the utilization of various academic resources at UGM, access to legal literature, and intensive guidance from their advisor, Dr. R.A. Antari Innaka T., S.H., M.Hum., who provided input and strategies for drafting the contract throughout the competition. This reflects the spirit of SDG 17 on Partnerships for the Goals, where collaboration is key to improving the quality of education and student learning outcomes.
The achievements of the SKADI Team serve as an inspiration for other law students to continue learning and excelling in the field of law. Furthermore, these achievements are tangible proof of the quality of education they have received during their studies at UGM, thereby strengthening the reputation of the UGM Faculty of Law at the national level. Overall, it is hoped that this achievement will motivate other students to continue excelling in various academic competitions and bring pride to their alma mater, themselves, and their families. Thus, this achievement demonstrates that with hard work and high dedication, students can achieve accomplishments that bring pride at the national level.
