PPSMB FH UGM 2018 “REFORMASI”
On Wednesday–Thursday, August 8–9, 2018, the 2018 “Reformasi” PPSMB FH UGM, the successful learning training program for new students at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM), was held. The program was attended by new FH UGM students and aimed to introduce campus orientation activities while instilling the noble values and identity of UGM. It also sought to foster students’ character by encouraging them to become intellectuals who demonstrate critical thinking, maturity in speech and conduct, non-violence, cultural awareness, dignity, inspiration, and a strong commitment to the values of Pancasila.
The 2018 PPSMB FH UGM specifically aimed to introduce new students to the history, values, philosophy, vision, mission, and achievements of FH UGM, as well as the purpose of legal education. Students were also introduced to the legal profession in Indonesia. Through this program, students were expected to gain an understanding of how to become future law enforcers who not only actively contribute to national development but also uphold morality and integrity.
The PPSMB FH UGM began with the singing of Indonesia Raya, the UGM Hymn, and the FH UGM March, followed by remarks from Sartika Intaning Pradhani, S.H., M.H., the Coordinator of the 2018 PPSMB FH UGM, and the Dean of the Faculty of Law UGM, Prof. Dr. Sigit Riyanto, S.H., LL.M. In his remarks, the Dean welcomed the new students for becoming part of the Faculty of Law and encouraged them to develop themselves into future law enforcers who uphold integrity and morality.
The opening session was followed by a talk show featuring Prof. Dr. Maria S.W. Sumardjono, S.H., MCL, MPA., Prof. Nindyo Pramono, S.H., M.S., and other distinguished speakers with outstanding achievements and professional track records. During the talk show, the new students actively participated and responded to the speakers’ questions with thoughtful and substantive answers. They also enthusiastically took part in the sharing session by presenting their assignments. The 2018 PPSMB “Reformasi” at the Faculty of Law UGM concluded with a bazaar, performances by LO/LSO and student communities, as well as awards for the best participants and groups. The closing ceremony reflected the participants’ enthusiasm and excitement, culminating in a sing-along involving both the committee members and participants. – ROP
