The Faculty of Law of Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM) officially launched its student internship program at the High Prosecutor’s Office of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (Kejati DIY). The internship program involves 12 undergraduate (S1) students from FH UGM and commenced on Monday (5/1/2026). The internship period is scheduled to run until 5 February 2026. The program forms part of FH UGM’s efforts to strengthen students’ competencies through practical learning experiences within law enforcement institutions.
The internship deployment ceremony was attended by Dr. Khotibul Umam, S.H., LL.M., Head of the Undergraduate Study Program of FH UGM. Representing Kejati DIY, Dr. Desy Meutia Firdaus, S.H., M.Hum., Deputy Head of the Yogyakarta High Prosecutor’s Office, expressed appreciation for FH UGM’s trust in Kejati DIY as a partner in developing the capacities of future legal professionals.
Throughout the internship period, participating students will be directly involved in various activities within the Yogyakarta High Prosecutor’s Office. Through this experience, students are expected to integrate the theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom with real-world legal practice while enhancing their readiness to enter the professional legal field.
The implementation of this internship program contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the enhancement of practice-based higher education, SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) through increased understanding of judicial systems and law enforcement institutions, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strengthened institutional collaboration between FH UGM and Kejati DIY in developing human resources in the legal sector.
