Sleman, September 9, 2024 - On Monday, September 9, 2024, the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), through the Legal Aid and Consultation Center (PKBH), in collaboration with the High Prosecutor's Office of Yogyakarta (DIY), successfully held a legal counseling event titled "Suluh Praja" at the Sidoluhur Village Hall, Godean District, Sleman Regency, DIY. The aim of this legal counseling session was to provide insights and legal knowledge to the participants, including village officials and the local community, regarding common legal issues. This edition of Suluh Praja focused on the theme of "Marriage," providing legal perspectives on marriage law.
The event began at 9:00 AM with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, "Indonesia Raya," followed by a welcoming speech from Mr. Hermawan Zudanto, the Head of Sidoluhur Village. Next, Mr. Nurhadi, S.H., M.H. from the High Prosecutor's Office of DIY gave an introduction and presentation on the tasks, roles, and functions of the civil and administrative division within the Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia.
The material presentation was delivered by a speaker from the Faculty of Law UGM, Dr. Yulkarnain Harahab, S.H., M.Si., a lecturer from the Department of Islamic Law at UGM, who addressed the theme of "Marriage" to provide legal insights related to the aspects of marriage law. The UGM lecturer actively participated in the question-and-answer session with the village officials.
The material presented by both speakers was interactive and engaging, leading to a productive discussion. The lecturers answered participants' questions clearly and provided practical solutions.
This legal counseling activity aims to strengthen inclusive and peaceful communities while contributing to the achievement of SDG Goal 1, which aims to eradicate poverty, and SDG Goal 16, which seeks to promote peace, justice, and strong institutions, starting with village governance.
