Legal Counseling in Sendangadi Village Discussed Online Loans and Online Gambling

On Wednesday, September 4, 2024, the Faculty of Law of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through the Legal Aid Consultation Center (PKBH), in collaboration with the Yogyakarta High Prosecutor's Office, successfully conducted a legal counseling session titled "Suluh Praja" at the Sendangadi Village Hall, Mlati District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. This legal counseling aimed to provide insights and legal knowledge to the attendees, which included village officials and the surrounding community, on common legal issues. 

This session of Suluh Praja focused on the theme " Online Course , Online CourseGambling” which are currently widespread in society. The aim was to provide legal insights regarding the risks associated with online registration process. lending and online registration process.gambling. Through this event, it is hoped that the public will gain a better understanding of online registration process. lending and online gambling, which are prevalent in society.

The event began with a welcome speech by the Representatives Melikan Village. Following this, Mr. Ye Oceng Almahdaly, S.H., M.H. from the Yogyakarta High Prosecutor's Office provided an introduction and presented material on the duties, main tasks, and functions of the civil and administrative sectors of the Indonesian Attorney General's Office. 

This seminar featured two speakers: Prof. Dr. Tata Wijayanta, S.H., M.Hum., and Annisa Syaufika Yustisia Ridwan, S.H., M.H. Both are lecturers in the Department of Civil Law at the Faculty of Law, UGM. The material presented by both speakers was delivered in an interactive and engaging manner, facilitating a productive discussion. The speakers also answered participants’ questions clearly and constructively, fostering an engaging exchange between the speakers and the workshop attendees. It is hoped that this legal outreach program will contribute to building an inclusive and peaceful society. Additionally, this initiative is expected to advance SDG Goal 1—to help eradicate poverty—and SDG Goal 16—to promote peace, justice, and strong institutions—starting at the village government level.
